Fundraising in Australia
Raised operates in both New Zealand and Australia. The platform, the fees and the way campaigns work are the same in each country.
The two domains
Australian fundraisers live at raised.au and New Zealand fundraisers at raised.nz.
These are two front doors to the same platform rather than two separate products. Your account works on either, and links generally resolve correctly whichever one someone uses. If you registered with an Australian address, raised.au is the one to use and share.
The embed widget
When you copy the code to embed a donation form on your own website, the script tag points at raised.nz even for an Australian campaign. That is expected and it works. Both domains serve the same widget, so there is no need to change it.
If you would rather it read raised.au, you can swap the domain in the script tag and it will still work.
Currency
Your campaign's currency is set when you create it, and that is the currency supporters are charged in. Australian campaigns take Australian dollars.
If the mobile app displays a different currency symbol on a crowdfunding campaign, it is a display issue in the app and does not affect what supporters are actually charged or what you are paid. The amounts in your dashboard and on the web are the ones that count. Let us know if you see it.
Fees and payouts
Fees work the same way as in New Zealand. By default they are added at checkout and paid by the supporter, so you receive the full amount. See Understanding Processing Fees.
Payouts run through Stripe on the same schedule, including the waiting period before your first one. See When Will I Receive My Stripe Payment?.
Products and wholesalers
Our wholesaler catalogue is currently New Zealand based. Australian organisers most often run crowdfunding campaigns, or product fundraisers using their own supplier. See Running Your Own Self-Hosted Fundraiser.
