Run a skip-a-thon with an online sponsorship page for every student. Classes compete on the leaderboard, sponsors pay by card in about a minute, and you keep everything you raise. No monthly fees, no minimum.
A skip-a-thon is a sponsored skipping event. Students skip rope for a set time, and family and friends sponsor them for taking part. All you need is a rope for each child and somewhere to skip, so almost everything you raise is profit.
It fits into a PE lesson or a lunchtime, it works in a small space, and every age group can join in. On Raised, each student gets their own sponsorship page, so there are no paper forms or cash envelopes coming back to the office.
Pick the format that suits your students and your timetable. Many schools mix two of them.
Everyone skips for a set time, such as 20 minutes for juniors and 30 for seniors, with short breaks.
Students count their skips in one minute at the start of term and try to beat it on the day.
One rope per class, passed along the line. The class keeps going until the time is up.
Older students take turns on a long rope or show off tricks. It gives the juniors something to watch.
Pick a day, check you have enough ropes, and create your campaign on Raised in about 2 minutes.
Turn on Teams mode so each class has a total, and every student gets their own page and QR code.
Practise in PE for a couple of weeks while students share their pages with family and friends.
Run the event, share the class totals, and thank sponsors. Funds go straight to your connected Stripe account.
Ropes are cheap and most schools already have a set. There is no stock to buy and nothing left over.
Skipping is a full workout, and it fits easily into the PE programme in the weeks before the event.
Teams mode puts every class on a leaderboard, which keeps sponsorship coming in right up to the day.
Everything you need to know about running a skip-a-thon on Raised
A skip-a-thon (or jump-a-thon) is a sponsored skipping event. Students skip rope for a set time or try to beat their own best count, and friends and family sponsor them for taking part. It needs little more than a set of ropes and a court, which makes it one of the cheapest athons to run.
There are no setup fees, monthly fees, or subscription costs. Card donations carry a 5% platform fee and Stripe processing fees. Card surcharges are not allowed in Australia, so by default these come out of the donation, and donors can choose to cover them. You can also choose to absorb fees yourself in your payment settings.
Each student gets their own page with a shareable link and QR code. Sponsors give a set amount. If someone wants to back each skip, they can estimate the total and give that up front. Every donation rolls up into your event goal and the leaderboards.
Yes. Turn on the optional Teams mode from your dashboard to group students into classes or year groups, each with their own total and a spot on the leaderboard.
No. You keep every donation whether or not you hit your target. There is no all-or-nothing rule.
Funds are paid out through Stripe, typically within a few business days depending on your country and bank.
