Matched Giving on Raised

Matched giving lets a sponsor multiply your supporters' donations for a period of time. When a supporter gives $50 with a 2× match, the sponsor adds another $50 on top. It's a powerful way to create urgency and encourage people to give while the match is on.

Matched giving is available on crowdfunding campaigns.

Setting Up a Match

1. Go to Manage → your campaign → Settings → Matched Giving.
2. Add a match period and set:
   • Pool amount: the total the sponsor will contribute in matching. Matching stops once this pool is used up.
   • Multiplier: how much each donation is matched. The default is 2× (dollar-for-dollar); 3× would turn a $50 donation into $150 in total.
   • Start and end: the window during which matching is active.
   • Sponsor name and logo: shown to supporters so the sponsor gets recognition.
   • Optional limits: a per-donation cap, a minimum or maximum donation to qualify, and the option to limit the match to a single team.
3. You can add more than one match period if you have several sponsors or want matches at different times.
4. Save your changes.

What Supporters See

While a match is active, your campaign page shows:

• A live prompt on the donation form, for example "Your $50 becomes $100 with matched giving".
• The sponsor's name and logo, and a badge on matched donations ("+$50 matched by [Sponsor]").
• A separate match pool progress bar showing how much of the sponsor's pool has been used.

Important: How Matched Funds Are Counted

Matched giving is tracked in its own separate pool, shown through the sponsor badges and the match pool progress bar.

Matched amounts are not added to your campaign's headline "amount raised" total or its main progress bar. Those reflect the actual donations your supporters make. This keeps your reported total accurate to the money that has genuinely come in, while the match pool bar shows the sponsor's contribution separately.

If a matched donation is later refunded, the matched amount is returned to the pool so it can be used by another donation.
