Shave It or Shade It for Coops!

SHAVE IT OR SHADE IT FOR COOPS 💙

A few weeks ago, 10-year-old Cooper was suddenly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), turning life upside down for Cooper and his whole family almost overnight.

Very early on, some of Cooper’s mates decided they wanted to do something to show him they were right there beside him...they wanted to shave their heads. (And when a group of 10 and 11-year-old boys are willing to lose their locks for their mate, we thought that deserved to become something a little bigger).

So we have decided to Shave it or Shade it for Coops!

Come along and shave your head or colour your hair in support of Cooper and the Turner family. Whether you’re brave enough for the buzz or would rather add some colour, everyone can get involved.

While the hair might be the fun part, the reason behind it is simple: show Cooper that his community is behind him and to raise some much-needed funds for his family while they navigate the months of treatment ahead.

Cooper’s treatment means long periods in Brisbane, which has led to the family moving there for the next 4-6 months. They are doing such an amazing job of supporting all four of their kids down a new path that none of them expected.

We can’t make this journey disappear, but we can make sure they don’t have to, nor feel like, they are walking it alone.

So, on September 5, come shave it or shade it and cheer on the brave ones, throw a few dollars in and help us show Coops just how big his army really is! You can donate here via credit card (charges apply), bank transfer (please label 'shave day' or similar: BSB 034204, ACC 309961 S BROWN) or cash on the day (cash is not preferred simply due to the safety and logistics but happily taken if that's the only option!). We should have CC tap options on the day too!
We have set this up separate to the GoFundMe so that the kids can track their contribution and also as it has no fees to the Turners!
